An intimate behind-the-scenes portrait of George Michael on his 25 Live Tour, filmed by his longtime friend and collaborator David Austin with unusually close access to George both on and off stage.

I edited the film at George’s home in Highbury, working closely with George, David and tour manager Lisa Johnson. The aim was to capture something more personal than a conventional tour film: the scale and exhilaration of the live shows, but also the wit, warmth, pressure and quieter moments around them.

Seen now, the film has an added poignancy. What began as a candid record of George at work became a document of his final world tour — a close-up portrait of an extraordinary artist in his element.

Originally released as part of the Live in London Blu-ray, the film was later made available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
